Mac OSX – Catalina New App Security Requirements

With the release of Catalina,  Apple has  added a new security requirement. “Mac apps, installer packages, and kernel extensions that are signed with Developer ID must also be notarized by Apple in order to run on macOS Catalina”

This , in theory should help reduce malware and malicious apps being installed. It can also impact legitimate apps such as Docker Desktop. My stable version of Docker Desktop, which is the current release, would not start under Catalina.  You must download and install and Edge version. 

Note: You will lose you current containers and configuration. But you still have your Docker Compose file you just need to redo the Up
